The double room had fridge and a lounge area and we could n't expect more. Hotel provides shuttle bus. Special note of thanks to chef. We loved this place, its superb.

They upgraded our room to a suite without extra charge since we had 2 children and the double room didn't have space for a baby cot.

Beautiful, modern, well-maintained facilities, reasonable prices. Despite the 10 minute mountainous road one has to drive to find it, the hotel is conveniently situated in the middle of Crete. The personell was polite and well-motivated. The villa with piscine was very convenient and pleasant for our 6-member family. The bathrooms were claen and spacious and the food was very good.
For a 5-star hotel there are several points, mainly regarding the services provided and the professionalism of the personell that give a rather bad impression. I assume that having the grass mown, replacing the soap and shampoo in time, providing a more professional room and restaurant cleaning service or a variety in the restaurant music (they played the same cd at every breakfast and dinner!!!) is no such a big deal for a 5-star hotel! I guess what is missing is a stringent survaillance and control of the services which the personell provide.

The hotel is brand new and well decorated. The staff are nice and try their best. The villa we rented had all the amenities we wanted and the remoteness of the place suited our needs as we rented a car and travelled around the island every day and returned to our own little peaceful house at night.
The staff try their best but they are not as professional as you would expect the staff to be in a 5 * hotel. Even basic requests might confuse them and take time to be fulfilled. The dinner buffet is pretty poor especially compared to what you can get at any basic taverna in Greece. We only dined there once and never tried again. If you do not care for quality food then the buffet might suffice. Be warned, it is in the middle of nowhere so you need a car if you stay there (Closest beach/town/restaurant at a 30 min hilly walk at best)

During the night there was not hot water in the bathroom. Also there was a window between the bathroom and the bedroom!

Comfortable, nice room. Selection of pools. Good service, very attentive, considerate and courteous employees (reception, dining room, spa, housekeeping). Architecturally very appealing.
You have a very extensive selection of various items on your dinner buffet. A more fresh, simpler and modern selection would be preferred (over-cooked meats, seafood (i.e. shrimp) not very fresh, vegetables sometimes bland, overcooked) Maybe consider more fresh items like briefly grilled meats i.e. Souvlaki style or grilled vegetables.
